Use code satin70 to get 70% off Satin & Minky Blankees, Baby Blankets & Toddler Blankets at Bebe Bella Designs. This site has some of the cutest, softest, most adorable blankees and blankets I've ever seen. I ordered one of the Minky Blankees to give to my cousin's baby and I can personally attest to how soft and beautiful it is! And, the discount applies to entire order - so you can order multiples!!! Just some ideas:

Satin Minky Blankee - $22.50 - 70% off = $6.75 + $5.00 shipping = $11.75 (58% off w/ shipping)
Satin Minky Baby Blanket - $50.00 - 70% = $15.00 + $7.50 shipping = $22.50 (62% off w/ shipping)
Satin Minky Toddler Blanket - $64.00 - 70% = $19.20 + $7.50 shipping = $26.70 (63% off w/ shipping)

Keep in mind that the 70% discount only applies to the Satin & Minky varieties. Here's all the fine print: Offer not valid with any other offer, not valid on sport team colored blankets, not valid with any other certificate and only valid on in stock items.

Fantastic cheap "steal" on Plum District Today! You can get a $10 voucher at Earthfare for only $5! As most of you know, I LOVE Earthfare and we shop there about once a week, so I definitely snapped up this one!

If you have an Earthfare close by, you should definitely create an account through their website. They have a free item every week with a minimal purchase (normally have to buy at least $5 - 10 to get free item). This week you get a free package of red/orange/yellow bell peppers with a $10 purchase (a $5.69 value). Also, they have a trade-in item every 2 weeks. They ask you to bring in your main-stream item (and can even be an empty bottle/package/container) and trade it in for their healthier version - for free. We've gotten their chapstick, bug repellent, hand sanitizer, juice boxes, and cereal through trade-ins!

It is a rather pricey place to shop for general things, but if you shop their sales and use their weekly/bi-weekly coupons, it's really quite doable!

Plum District Charlotte

So I've mentioned Plum District before on here (I think) - but I thought that I might mention it again for all of you Charlotte people! Plum District has been national for a while, but they just launched the Charlotte District the week before last. Plum District is a lot like Groupon and Living Social - but it's specifically "for moms, by moms". You're not going to find a lot of zip-line, night-club, hot new Uptown Restaurant deals on Plum District. What you will find are deals at markets and cafes, tutoring facilities, dance classes, photography, children's entertainment, and clothes. I love Groupon and Living Social - but this definitely is a nice addition to the group-buying-power-deal-getting world. It adds a little balance. So check out Plum District (even if you're not in Charlotte, they do have national deals).

My Favorite Charlotte Deals this week:
$20 for an Ice Cream Mani-Pedi from Shug a Bug – a $40 Value
$150 for an 8 hour ACT/SAT Prep Course from BellaTutor - $300 Value

Back on the Target Circuit

I did not intentionally take a break from going to Target, it just happened that way. So when I went on Saturday, it was literally the first time I had been there in over a month...and then I went again today! I was reminded why I like Target so much - and now I'm hooked again! Pictured below is everything I got to day for a grand total of $12.53 (with tax)! In case it is hard to see in the picture - that's 6 bottles of John Frieda Shampoo, 1 bottle of Up and Up Facial Scrub (my husband loves that stuff), 4 packs of Trident Gum, 2 pairs of Merona Pants, 1 Mossimo Leggings, 1 Mossimo Skirt, and 2 Mossimo Camisoles! How did I do this, you may ask? And how long did it take me to organize it? Answers: super easy and about 10 minutes!

If you're not visiting Taret's online coupon site regularly, you ought to check it out. Last week they had $5 coupons for any Mossimo or Merona item (including Clearance items). The pants were marked on clearance for $5.48 and $6.24 - so I got those for $.48 and $1.24 each. The skit was $3.74, so it price adjusted to free. The leggings were a "splurge" because they weren't on sale and I had to pay $3 for them after the coupon! :) The camisoles are on sale this week for $6, so after the coupon - only $1 each!

The shampoo was the trickiest of them all, but not too bad. John Frieda shampoos and conditioners are on sale this week for $4.99-$5.74 each, and when you buy at least 3 bottles, you get a $5 gift card. Also, if you go to the target coupon site, they have coupons for $3/2. And lastly, there was a coupon in the paper a few weeks ago for $3/2. So, here's what I did:
6 bottles of Shampoo (they didn't have any conditioner, but tons of shampoo) x $4.99 = $29.94
3 Target Coupons for $3/2 = $9
3 Manufacturer Coupons for $3/2 = $9
Paid $12.53 (with tax, after my 5% redcard discount) AND got back $10 in gift cards

I then did a separate transaction for all the clothes, facial scrub, and gum, and used my gift cards to pay for them - and still have $1.37 left on one of the cards! Oh yeah - the gum was free: I had two Target coupons for B1G1, and then a $2/3 Manufacturer coupon.

I had the cashier and the people in line behind me congratulating me and asking if I could do their shopping for them! I'd say that's a good day! :)

Music and Arts - $10 discount - no minimum + free shipping!!!

Music and Arts is a music store here in Charlotte that sells instruments, music, and also offers private lessons. They have locations all over the East Coast and a pretty decent online store (that ships to anywhere in the US). Well, they are celebrating their 59th Anniversary and are offering a $10 discount off of a $10 or more purchase + completely free shipping. So, I just ordered a metronome that's on sale for $9.99 (usually $14.99) and because I was one penny short of the $10, I added a book of manuscript paper for $1.35. With tax, my total was $1.44, shipped! If you don't need a metronome, they have thousands of items (sheet music, all kinds of music books, instruments, etc.) to choose from.

To get the discount code, go to http://musicarts.com. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and on the left-hand side you'll see where to sign-up for their Encore Rewards program. Once you've signed up (it's free) - they'll start emailing you their promotions. You should receive an email with a code for the $10 deal above!

The coupon is good through 9/23/11!!!

Another new deal site...

Okay, so the deal sites are coming out of the woodwork! But I don't know about you - but I LOVE them! I have found so many amazing deals through all of these places (I'm talking about Groupon, Living Social, Plum District, Savemore, The Clymb, etc.). It is an amazing way to help small businesses in a down market, and a great way to help consumers in tough economic times (it's all about collective buying power). It really and truly is win-win for everyone. So - there is another new one (at least to me) called fab.com. I just checked it out, and this is what I like most: I didn't see a single tooth whitening pen on their list of deals...or a picture/canvas deal!!! I'm saying that kind of tongue-n-cheek - but seriously, I think every deal site that I subscribe to is offering those two items right now (which I'm obviously not interested in)!!! So, all kidding aside, there are some really unique items on fab.com - like customizable punch cards, wall tiles, and my favorite - inside out journals! Seriously cool looking! Anyway, membership is by invitation only - so click this link and you can join! I got a $10 credit when I signed up, but I can't guarantee that everyone gets that; but it's worth a try! So, click here and check it out!

September Friday Freebie: $31 Gift Certificate

Happy September! September is a special month to me! Why? Well, for reasons that are obvious to everyone: the new school year starts (I'm like a kid in a candy store - walking through all the school supply isles!!!), fall begins and it starts getting cooler, talk of Christmas begins, the count-down to my birthday... :) And speaking of birthdays - my family packs them in during the month of September! My own little bundle of joy will turn one this month, one of my younger sisters will celebrate her last year in her 20's, my little brother will say hello to his 20's, and those are all beside my aunt, sister-in-law, nephew, and lots of friends! Such a fun month! So, to celebrate the last few months that I'm 31, my sister and I are giving away a $31 gift certificate to the fabulous thirty-one gifts and bags! If you're not familiar with thirty-one, you ought to be! They have the cutest bags, luggage, wallets, stationery, and specialty items. One of the things that is so cool about them, is that you can get almost everything monogrammed - and for only $7!!! I love to get things monogrammed, but here in Charlotte it gets expensive! The least expensive I've been able to find is starting at $10 - and that's just for 2 inch initials...and the price goes up from there depending on how many characters and how big! At thirty-one, it's a flat fee of $7 and in some cases, you can get two lines and up to 8 characters per line!

But I'm getting a little off-track now; back to the give-away! There will be a drawing on Friday, September 16th for the $31 Gift Certificate to thirty-one. Of course, there are a few things you have to do to be entered - but they're super simple!

1) Follow/Subscribe to this blog (look directly to the right - very easy)
2) Visit www.mythirtyone.com/37151 and view the online catalog
3) Email me at savesimplyblog(at)gmail(dot)com and give me the following:
Name, Address, and your favorite item from the catalog!

There is no purchase necessary to enter the drawing, however - with every $31 order, you get an additional entry for the gift certificate! So, buy a few Christmas presents, and then if you win the gift certificate - get something to treat yourself! Plus, my sister (the thirty-one rep) is offering some special incentives for all of you:

1) Spend $31 and get 1 of 7 *items at 1/2 off!!!
2) Spend at least $50 and get free shipping!!!

*Celebrate Card Set, Zipper Pouch, Organizing Wallet, Coin Purse Wallet, Soft Wallet, Essential Zip Wallet, and Hard Case Wallet; monogramming not included. To qualify for the free shipping, orders will have to be placed via phone and not through her website.

Think about it, if you spend $62, you qualify for two 1/2 price items, AND free shipping,
AND you'll be entered into the drawing a total of three times!!! Now that's a great deal! :)
Please email me at savesimplyblog(at)gmail(dot)com with any questions about placing orders!

Good luck!!!
