Australian Open

My apologies to my faithful followers. I am an avid tennis fan and for the past 10 days I have been completely and utterly engrossed in the Australian Open Tennis Tournament. At this very moment, I am typing this and watching the Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal Sem-Final match. This match actually happened at 3:30 am (our time) - and I'm watching it on espn3.com. So if you know the outcome, don't tell me!

Anyway - just wanted to explain why I haven't posted as much these last 10 days or so. The tournament will be over on Saturday and I will return to a normal life and a regular posting schedule! :-)

In the meantime - here are just a few deals you might want to take advantage of today:

Charlotte People: enter the code Charlotte25 to get 25% off of any Charlotte Deal on Plum District (today only)!!!! Click here to sign up if you haven't already (you'll also get $5 credit that you can use in addition to the promo code above)!

One Kings Lane: enter INDULGE at checkout and get 20% off your entire order! If you haven't signed up yet, you can do so here and get an additional $15 off your 1st order of $30 or more! I haven't tried it yet, but theoretically you should be able to use both of these in your order! Look at the bottom of the page and click on the "Downstairs" section for their clearance items! Clearance + 20% off + $15 off = Fantastic Deals!

Restaurant.com: enter DATE for 80% off! Might be a great time to look for a new/fun place to go to for Valentine's Day or a Date Night!!!

A Few Things

Shoprunner is a pretty cool shipping service that you might want to take opportunity to check out here. They offer free shipping to 100's of different sites (including ToysRus, Domino's Pizza, and many others). You can sign-up for a trial membership for 30 days and just see if you like it!

Coldwater Creek has a RedTag event going on right now with items marked down as low as 85%. I'm relatively new to shopping at Coldwater Creek - but I've bought a pair of flip-flops and a set of linen napkins from them in the past 6 months and love them both! Great quality. If you like them, go through Shopathome or Ebates first and get 2% cash back on whatever you spend. Also, if you're going for something big, enter in code WHF3845 to get $20 off a purchase of $80 or more!

Lands' End has opened "The Warehouse" where items are marked up to 65% off! They are also offering free shipping - with no minimum. Once again, if you start at ShopatHome or Ebates, you will receive 2.5% cash back!

Don't know how to shop through Ebates or ShopatHome? Simply click on the links above and set up an account. Anytime you want to shop online, start at one of those websites and do a search for the merchant that you're wanting to shop with (Target, Joe's New Balance, your local newspaper, pretty much anything)! After you've created and logged-in to your accont, click "Shop Now" by the merchant of your choice and ShopAtHome/Ebates will track your purchase and credit your account with the promised cash back percentage within 30 days! Once your account reaches $5, you can cash out! A great way to earn a little cash back for virtually every online purchase!

Reminder: Swagbucks is a great way to earn "bucks" for what you're doing already! Surfing the web? Use their browser and earn swagbucks! Printing coupons online through coupons.com? Log-in to your swagbucks account 1st and go to the "Earn" tab and choose "Coupons" from the drop down menu. It will redirect you to the coupons.com site (so you're seeing the exact same coupons) - but you'll earn 10 swagbucks for every coupon that you use! Do you use msn or yahoo as your home page? Change it to swagbucks so you're reminded to use it every day! Answer their daily poll question (takes about 10 seconds) and get an extra swagbuck! Download their toolbar and get an extra swagbuck every day when you log-on to the internet! It's so easy to rack up those swagbucks and when you get 450, you can cash in for various gift cards! Or save them up for something big and special! Not a swagbucks user yet? Sign up here and get started! It's super easy & you'll get 30 swagbucks to get you started!

Give Away!!!

Probably my favorite deal site is Plum District! Their tag line is "For Moms, By Moms" - and I think that is mostly true. The only change I would make to that would be "For Women, by Women"! So if you're not a mom, don't think it's not for you! Of any of the deal sites, I find special, in-expensive, high-quality items there! So, I'm doing a special promotion for those who haven't yet jumped on the Plum District band-wagon to give you the push you need! Here's all you have to do:

1) Sign up for a totally free account with Plum District HERE (all you have to do is enter an email address, whatever password you'd like, and your zip code) and you'll get an immediate $5 credit!

2) Post a comment on this post that you've signed up and you'll be entered into a drawing for one of three $5 Plum District Gift Cards! If you win, that means you'll have a total of $10 in Plum District credit to apply to any deal!

The drawing will be held on Friday, January 27th!

***If you have already set up a Plum District Account,
but have not made your 1st purchase - you may still enter this drawing!***

The link above is my referral link; I ask that you use it to sign up for your Plum District account so that I can continue to offer special promotions like this one! Thanks so much!

Click this link and just follow the steps. You should get a $10 credit for signing up! Once you've joined, comment on this post and let me know what you think!!!

Great Deals at Harris Teeter - WITHOUT Super Double or Triple Coupons!!!

I went to HT on Saturday for some general grocery needs - not expecting to be able to use coupons at all. But, I had a little time to kill, so I started browsing a little bit. There is nothing but the regular weekly sales going on at Harris Teeter right now, so these deals are extra special to me!

New Kleenex Cool-Touch - on sale for B1G1 ($2.39 - so it makes each box $1.19)
Buy 3 boxes @ $1.19 each
Use 3 $.50/1 coupons (that doubles to $1.00)
Pay $.19 per box!!!

Finish Gel Tabs - 20 count box - on sale for B1G1 ($5.69 - so it makes each box $2.35)
Buy 1 box @ $2.35
Use 1 $2.15/1 coupon
Pay $.20 per box!!!

Colgate Wave Toothbrush - on sale 2/$3.00
Buy 1 @ $1.50

Kraft Shredded Cheese - on sale for B1G1 ($2.99 for a 8 oz bag...I think)
Buy 2 bags for a total of $2.99
Use $1/2 coupon (from yesterday's paper)
Pay $1.99 for both bags ($.99 each)!!!

This is one of the many reasons that I LOVE Harris Teeter! Also, did you know that Harris Teeter will take dollar off entire purchase competitor coupons? I got a sheet of LOWE's Foods coupons - four different $10/$50 purchase designated for use each week in January. So even though I don't shop at LOWE's Foods, I've been able to take one $10/$50 coupon into Harris Teeter each week this month and get $10 taken right off the top - before I even use my coupons! So keep your eyes peeled for coupons like this from LOWE's, Aldi, Bi-Lo, Food-Lion, Bloom, Earth Fare - any of them!

Fitness Deals in Charlotte

A while back I bought a Living Social deal for tennis clinics with Upchurch Tennis. I took the clinics and liked them so much that I even paid full price (gasp) to take a few extra! Well, Living Social is running another great tennis clinic deal with Upchurch tennis right now!!! Here's what you can get:
Five 60-minute group clinics - $30
Five 90-minute group clinics - $40
Two 60-minute private lessons - $49

I can personally vouch for Upchurch Tennis (operate out of Jeff Adams Tennis Center); they are fabulous!

MoveStudio Charlotte is my favorite Pilates/Yoga studio in Charlotte! Once again, I found out about them through a Living Social deal back in June. I started going on July and haven't stopped! They are offering two amazing deals to get your New Year started off on the right foot!

Unlimited Classes for January - March - for only $50/month. You have to create an online account through their website and then sign up for an automatic draft for the $50/month. The unlimited pass is normally $85/month - so this is an amazing savings!

$5 Saturday Class at 9:30! If you're not so sure you want to commit to $50/month before trying it out - go to their $5 Saturday classes! The normal drop-in rate is $15, so this is a huge savings. Most weeks it will be Yoga with an occasional Pilates class thrown in. There will be a different instructor every week - so it is a great way to try everyone out and see which style you like best! They may even start offering child-watch during this class! Wouldn't that be a cool New Year's resolution: to start each Saturday morning with your significant other doing Yoga or Pilates?!?!?!

Read it Forward: Book on the Real Downton Abbey

There is a site called Read it Forward that I joined a while back, but haven't really paid much attention to. They highlight a different book every month and you can enter their drawing daily to get a free copy. Well this month's book really caught my eye because I'm completely obsessed with the PBS series Downton Abbey! The book that Read it Forward is featuring this month is about the real Downton Abbey - Highclure Castle - that inspired the series. If you'd like to enter the drawing, click here! You'll have to like the Read it Forward page on Facebook, then click "Enter Now" - and enter your name and email address. You can get an extra entry if you share it with your friends on Facebook and you can go back each day to re-enter! The book is called Lady Almina and the Real Downton Abbey by Countess of Fiona Carnarvon. If you just can't wait to see if you've won a copy, it can be purchased on amazon.com for a little under $10 + shipping (maybe use some of those amazon.com gift cards you've earned from swagbucks???)!

Back Online

I'm not sure what happened yesterday, but for some reason my blog was temporarily deleted. Thankfully, it magically reappeared this morning. I've changed passwords and contacted blogger, so hopefully we're "safe" now! Thanks for bearing with me and coming back for more tips on savings!!!

This and That

Earth Fare - text "Eat" to 71700 and get an instant mobile coupon for $10 off of a $25 purchase! You'll also be signed up for their "Feed your phone" promotion and get instant savings sent to your phone. Beware - the $10/$25 mobile coupon may only be good for 24 hours. I didn't realize this and went in a day after it expired. But I asked the management if they'd still honor it - and they happily did! :)

Lands End - 30% off and no-minimum free shipping! :-) As far as I can tell, there are no coupon codes required! Don't forget to go through ShopAtHome or Ebates for 2.5% cash back!

BellaTutor Coupon Class - will meet this coming Tuesday, January 17th from 7:00 - 9:00. Mention that you heard about it on this blog and you'll get 50% off (making the class only $25).

Swagbucks - if you aren't a Netflix customer already, sign up through Swagbucks and get 675 swagbucks just for signing up! Even better, your 1st month is 100% free! So, you can get a month of unlimited instant streaming and dvd rental for free, plus you get enough swagbucks to cash in for a $5 amazon.com gift card - and still have 225 swagbucks left over! If you're new to swagbucks, you can sign up here and get free swagbucks just for signing up! There's also a special for Blockbuster that will give you 1/2 off your 1st two months and 1,000 swagbucks (that's enough for TWO free amazon.com gift cards and a 100 swagbucks left over)!!! Also, don't forget to print your coupons (the same ones that you find on coupons.com) from swagbucks! It takes a while to credit your account, but you'll eventually get 10 swagbucks for every coupon!

Bebe Bella - Enter promo code: posh85 to get 85% off Posh Dot Blankees. A great stock-up price for super sweet/soft baby presents!!! Go here!

Groupon - is offering a deal at The Meat House (in Ballantyne area on Rea Road). Pay $15 for $25 credit! This place is supposed to have fantastic quality. I plan to get the deal and save it for a special occasion and maybe get some lamb, or special beef tenderloin! There are normally a lot of coupons or deals on fresh meat, so this is a fantastic way to get almost 1/2 off!

Happy New Year!!!

So I took a little break over the New Year holiday, but I'm back and excited for what this new year holds!!!! Deals that I'm particularly interested are a little scant right now, but that's probably a good thing. :) That gives me time to really work on my organization - which is one of my big goals for 2012! But, there are a few things out there that you may want to take a look at!

Harris Teeter - Super Doubles (double coupons up to a $1.98 face value) starting tomorrow and running until next Tuesday (January 10th)!!! This is such a great time to stock up on toiletries, paper goods, cleaning supplies, and pantry staples. Southern Savers has 3 different lists of super double coupon match-ups, so definitely go there and check them out! If you're not familiar with Southernsavers.com, Jenny does an awesome job of keeping the site up to date with all the sales and unadvertised specials, their coupon match-ups, and the links to the coupons that are available online! A fantastic resource! I'll be posting later this week with the deals I've found!

MoveStudio Charlotte - My most favorite Pilates/Yoga studio is offering an amazing deal! You can get an umlimited pass for 3 months - for only $50/month! You have to sign up for an automatic renewal - but it's totally worth it because the unlimited pass is normally $85/month. So that's a savings of $35/month and you get to go to as many classes as you want! This is a great way to give this place a shot. Personally, I love their teaching style and their classes will never have more than 8-10 people in them - so you get lots of personal attention! Go here for more information!
CVS - has some pretty good coupon/ECB match-ups this week. Plus, they have shifted their buy $30 deal. Now, instead of getting a $10 gas card, or other gift card, you get $10 in ECB's! Personally, I like this even better! One of the deals I'm going for at CVS this week is:
Buy $10 worth of Nivea products and get $4 ECB's
Nivea Lip Care - 2/$5
Buy 4 packages of Nivea Lip Balm = $10
Use 2 $3/2 Manufacturer coupons (from this past Sunday's paper)
Pay $4 + tax
Get back $4 ECB's = free!

Target - has some amazing deals right now. If you're unfamiliar with how all the coupons, redcard, and gift card deals work at Target, please go back and read my previous post about Target. As for what deals you can get this week, well I'm going to refer you to welovefree.wordpress.com. Hollie has some great lists on there to get you started!

Deal Sites - You know all those deal sites I was telling you to go ahead and sign-up for so you could get the sign-up credit? Well, a lot of them are doing clearance right now and your credit will go a LONG way. A lot of them are still offering sign-up credit, so here are some links to a few of them you might want to check out!
(paper goods - one of my new favorites)
(on January 8th they'll open back up their clearance section - scroll to the bottom and look in the "Downstairs at One Kings Lane")
(great fitness gear to get you motivated for those New Years Resolutions)
