Goodies to be had!!!

Lot 18

Lot 18 is offering free shipping until midnight tomorrow night!!! There are some good deals to be had. Here are two that I like the look of:

2009 Olsen Estates Yakima Valley Merlot Duo - $36

I looked up this wine on the Olsen Estates website, and I could only find the 2008 vintage. It was $25/bottle. So, I'm thinking that being able to get two bottles of the 2009 for $36, plus free shipping, is pretty darn good!

2006 Topel Mendocino Estate Reserve Cabernet Duo - $45.98

I also looked this one up and it looks like the best price I could find was $36/bottle. So once again, when you factor in that you're getting two bottles, and they're being shipped to your door ($10 value) - you're getting an $82 value for only $45.98.

Lot 18 is a gourmet coffee, chocolate, and wine site that offers discounts up to 60% off! It is a "by invitation only" site, so please use this link to join (if you have not already done so).

 Swagbucks

Swagbucks is offering the Netflix deal again!!! If you don't have a swagbucks account, this is a great time to do it! Just click here and sign up - and you'll instantly get 30 swagbucks. Then, sign up for a free trial of Netflix and get 1,000 swagbucks!!! I signed up for Netflix back in the summer when they were running this same promotion. Each $5.00 amazon.com gift card can be purchased with 450 swagbucks - so getting 1,000SB for signing up for Netflix will get you $10 in amazon.com git cards, plus you'll have 100 left over to apply to your next one! This is good for new Netflix subscribers only! Though I will say this - I had a Netflix account probably 6-7 years ago, and I was a little worried that they wouldn't consider me a new account; but they did!

Coupon Clippers

We'll be meeting at the McDonald's in Southpark again this Sunday at 2:30 - so bring your un-wanted coupons and be ready to share! Also, we are going to have a special guest this week - a reporter from the South Charlotte Weekly who is doing a story on us!!! How cool is that?!?!?!

Target.com

Another great way to save on target.com. Use code TGTARJUJ to get $5 off (today only) any regularly priced item priced $5 or more (excludes clearance items). Plus, you get free shipping and 5% off if you use your Redcard (debit or credit). And, all men's, women's, and children's apparel is already Buy One, Get One 1/2 off. Stack those all together for some incredible savings! (Thanks to welovefree.wordpress.com)

This and That IV

Simply Coupons Class - this Tuesday (November 14th) from 7:00 - 9:00 - offered by BellaTutor at 120 Greenwich Road, Charlotte, 28211. A special deal for this class is going to be offered on Plum District next week for $25 (50% off)!!! If you are unable to get the Plum District deal in time for the class, readers of this blog may still attend the class for the 1/2 off price of $25! Just mention that you read about it here! Email lisahuntington1979(at)gmail(dot)com for more information!

Savemore.com is offering a $25 AutoZone gift card for $15. This is not the amazing 50% off deal that I'm often looking for, but I have never seen a deal for an auto supply store before. We've recently had to replace a headlight and two taillights on our car, and this would have come in really handy. Think about lights, wiper blades, or even applying it towards a battery. They also still have the CVS $10 gift card for $5. If you haven't signed up with savemore yet, you can click the link at the beginning of this post and you'll get $10 sign-up credit. Unfortunately, you can't use any referral credit or sign-up credit to purchase these two deals, but I feel they're worth it!

PaperCoterie.com is a really cool site where you can personalize photo books, cookbooks, growth charts, and holiday cards. They are offering a free and clear $30 credit (no minimum) until Sunday! Just use promo code: H2SHOLIDAY when you check out. You will need to pay for shipping, but it is reasonable. (thanks hip2save.com!!!)

Plumdistrict.com is still offering a $5 sign-up credit and they have a deal I'm particularly interested in that I think you may like: Unique Sterling Silver Necklaces from Simply Been. They are so cool! If you use your $5 sign-up bonus, they'll only be $5. If you signed-up during the $10 promotion earlier this week, you'll only pay $5 out of pocket! That's a pretty cheap and super cool Christmas present for someone!

ShopAtHome is a site that I'm really starting to get into, and you might be interested too with the holidays coming up. If you're not familiar with it - here's what they do (from their site):
Through its partnership with thousands of online retailers, catalogs and magazines, ShopAtHome.com fulfills its mission of offering the latest products, up-to-the-minute deals and Cash Back for consumers who shop online while it generates targeted leads for the direct response industry.
Basically all you have to do is create an account (please consider using this link), and then go through their website each time you make a purchase online. A certain percentage of what you spend (it will tell you ahead of time what percent for that retailer) will be credited back to you in cash back rewards - in your shopathome account! Very simple way to save anywhere from 4-30%!

Swagbucks is another great way to generate some easy spending money for the holidays. Create a free account here today! Normally, you can only get 30 swagbucks when you sign up, but you can get an extra 80 swagbucks by entering in SBPAYSFORME during sign-up (probably need to type it in and not copy/paste). So, you'll start out with 110 swagbucks! Then just use them to do all your internet searching and watch the swagbucks rack up! Download their toolbar for an extra swagbuck every day, and answer the 5 second daily poll question for another easy swagbuck every day. Once you've gotten 450 swagbucks, you can "buy" a $5.00 Amazon.com gift card - or choose from many other things!

Bebe Bella is offering a 3-day Veteran's Sale. Just enter in promo code: VETERAN65 at checkout to get 65% off of their lounge wear, robes, and satin & minky blankets. Shipping starts at $5.00.

Store by Store: Target

I gave a coupon class this past Tuesday. It was about 2.5 hours long and we covered everything. Well, almost everything. There was a lot that I had to leave out because there just wasn't enough time - and my "students" eyes looked like they were glazing over. It that has gotten me thinking that I need to find a way to explain each store and its policies more completely. So, I've decided to do a little "series" on the various stores and all the ways that you can get good deals - one at a time. If you're just starting out with couponing, it's so much easier to just start with one store. Get used to its rules, policies, quirks - master them - and then add another store. Since I've gotten some great deals at Target in the past couple days, I'll start there!
Ways to Save at Target
1) Get a Redcard. You may be like me and not want any more credit cards - so this is where you're in luck. You apply for a Redcard Debit Card (right at the checkout - and it attaches itself to your checking account, just like your bank debit card! There are no fees for having this card - only savings! Every time you use it (only at Target), you save an immediate 5%! Yesterday, I saved an additional 1.35! That's pretty good considering I clipped no coupons and spent zero time trying to save that money. What I just found out: you can use it for purchases on target.com too and here's the big thing: you get 100% free shipping no matter what the amount of your total - when you use your Target Debit Card!!! Today I logged into my *ShopAtHome account, did a search for Target and clicked on the shop now button. It directed me to Target where I logged into my account there. I did a search for long-sleeve onesies (I've been needing these for my 14 month old). Target's having a sale on their apparel today (B1G50%) - so I ordered 2 packs. Then I used promo code TGTF7249 to get an additional $2.50 off. Then I used my Redcard Debit Card - it took an addtional 5% off, plus gave me free shipping! If I had gone to my local Target, those same two packages of onesies would have cost me $9.98 + tax. I saved a whopping $15.11 and will have them shipped to my door! LOVE IT! Oh yeah - and since I went through ShopAtHome, I'll get 6% of what I spent deposited into my ShopAtHome account!!! :)

order summary.

subtotal: $19.98

REDcard rewards -$0.62

promotion discounts -$7.50

shipping: $6.99

shipping discounts -$6.99

estimated taxes: $1.37

your price: $13.23

total savings $15.11 (53%)

2) Target allows you to stack coupons! If you go to target.com and scroll all the way to the bottom of the page under the "ways to save" - click on coupons. It will take you to all their store coupons (normally about 150 coupons). These coupons can be stacked with manufacturer coupons for super savings. Just click the ones you want, print, and pair with your manufacturer coupons! There is no limit to the number you can use (unless you get a finicky manager)!

3) Target offers gift cards deals that vary from week to week. You'll have to check your Target weekly ad, and also various websites (like totallytarget.com) for the current week's deals. Yesterday I was able to get a $5 gift card when I purchased $25 worth of Kimberly Clark (KC) items. KC manufacturers Huggies, Kleenex, Cottonelle, and many other brands. I bought 2 packages of Huggies Diapers for $9.49 each, and 5 boxes of Kleenex for $1.39 each. Between Target and Manufacturer coupons, I was able to take $11 off of my $27 bill and then get the $5 gift card (which I used on my next transaction)! So, basically I spent

4) When you take in your own re-usable bags, you get a $.15 discount taken off your purchase! Now that I'm typing this, I'm thinking it may be only $.05. Maybe one of you can verify this for me. Whichever, it's a pretty easy way to save a few pennies!

If you know of other ways to get amazing deals at Target, feel free to leave a comment! I'm always looking for more ways to save!

*More on ShopAtHome later. It's an amazing online tool for saving extra money. You can click here to visit their site and create an account!

$10 Credit at Plum District - expires Monday

Sign up through this link and get a $10 credit to Plum District (valid for new members only). Normally the sign-up bonus is only $5, so this is a great time to sign up. Unfortunately, I'm only allowed to give it to the first 5 people who sign-up, so you'll have to be fast. This offer will expire on Monday; after that, it's back to the $5 credit.

Things you may want to know about couponing

Here are some statistics I recently learned about couponing:

1) For every hour spent couponing, the estimated savings is $100

2) 88.2 million internet users (47%) plan to use internet coupons in 2011

3) When poled and asked to describe their coupon usage, choosing from non-user, super-low, low, medium, heavy, very heavy and enthusiasts, 60% of the people poled who have an annual household income of $50,000 or more - described themselves as being Enthusiasts!

4) Consumers saved 3.7 billion using coupons in 2010

5) 78.3% of consumers admitted to using coupons in 2010

* Source: ilovecouponmonth.com*

What this tells me:

1) I used to always think that the only people who used coupons were those that had to, and that by using them, you advertised to the world that you were poor. How foolish! 42% of the Super Heavy and Enthusiasts were people with an annual income of $100,000 or more (larger than any other income bracket)!

2) Those who say that they don't save enough money using coupons to make it worth their time, aren't couponing the right way. How many of those people make $100/hour? I would venture to say - none! And that's the average savings (for the medium/heavy user). I would describe myself as a very heavy user; wonder what I actually save?!?!?

3) The vast majority of consumers are now using coupons; it just makes good economic sense. Do NOT be ashamed of your coupon binder, or handing the cashier 20 coupons when you check-out. You should be proud that you are now a responsible and conscientious consumer who isn't needlessly throwing money away.
